Welcome to the Cockermouth Company of Archers Web Site.

Cockermouth Company of Archers is a small, friendly club for all ages and abilities, and new members are always welcome.

The club was established in 2005 and now has more than 30 members, including a strong junior section for 7 to 17 year olds. We shoot a wide range of rounds - target, field and clout - and styles, from recurve, compound and barebow to longbow, flatbow, Mongolian and Turkish.

We hold open, club and fun competitions, and take part in county and regional tournaments. Several junior and senior members have regularly represented Cumbria in regional competitions.

Visitors with Archery GB - formerly GNAS (Grand National Archery Society) - membership can shoot with us on a casual basis. It's worth the trip just to enjoy the view from our outdoor range at Grassmoor Sports Centre at Strawberry Howe, Cockermouth CA13 9XR.

We shoot at Grassmoor on Saturday mornings throughout the year and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from March to September.

From October to March, we shoot indoors on Tuesday evenings at Dean School, in the nearby village of Dean (CA14 4TH), starting at 6.30pm. Sessions cost £3.00 for seniors and £1.50 for juniors.

For more information about club and affiliation fees, joining us, or shooting outdors or indoors as a visitor, see our membership page or email us here

Happy shooting!
